The Hair Journey

So, yeah, I got three haircuts in a month period. Let me take you on the hair journey.

Karl likes my hair long. I spent a good part of the HOT HOT summer with it long. Styling it for 45 minutes only to put it in a ponytail an hour later.

So I kept my hair just like that for Karl’s 30th birthday. But after that I was thinking I wanted less hair for my 30th birthday. So I tried getting bangs and getting my hair thinned. I thought it would look great, and then I saw this picture of me on my 30th…

I just felt my hair looked super stringy. I am not used to that look, I am used to thick full hair and decided that I would never thin my hair again. A couple days after my birthday I was at my good friend's house and convinced her to cut off all my hair. Here is the result.

I loved my hair and got lots of compliments. However, I was very close to a hair cut that I always wanted to try out but haven’t…the pixie cut. So this past Monday, I went pixie!!! These pictures are right after the cut…my photographer, Brady.

I have spent the last few days training my side part to be further over to get the current trendy look.

You want to know how great this haircut is…those last three pictures are right after Zumba (an hour workout). Thanks Laura!

Okay friends, I want your HONEST opinion…which of the four cuts is your favorite?

Wordless Wednesday: Best Friends

Disney Withdrawal

The girls are still living the magic of Disney, partly thanks to all the sweet toys that their parents and grandparents bought them. One night they spent lots of time playing Cinderella. The would walk out of their “glass slipper” and leave it in the middle of the room for us to find. Then they would hide while we tried the shoe on everyone else in the family. Then we were told to trip so that the slipper would shatter, only so they could reveal they had the matching shoe.

The girls also love to play with the new castle inside the monorail set. SO MUCH FUN!!!

Also Target is running a promotion were a Princess will call the phone. Thanks Target for having Cinderella call us the night after we got home.

Disney World: Going Home

We got our stuff packed and made for one last trip on the girls favorite ride….the Monorail. My mom and sister aren’t going to appreciate these pictures but they are the only two I got that morning.

As we drove off, said bye to my mom, sis, bro in law and DISNEY, Brady was not a happy girl…

We can’t return soon enough. The experience was so magical for Brady (as a 4 year old) that we want to return when Reese is 4…good thing that is only 18 months away!

Disney World, Day Five: Can’t Get Enough of Magic Kingdom

We returned to Magic Kingdom for our last day. We had a few rides in mind for the day but with the rain and larger crowd most of the waits were close to an hour or stopping and going due to the weather. We had been spoiled through out the week and didn’t have the patience for the long lines, so our last day consisted of character autographs (surprise surprise) and makeovers.

We wanted to do the Bibbidi Bobbidy Bootique but I didn’t realize you had to be three and get months in advance reservation. Well, we were glad that the $200 makeover was all booked because we found about about this $8 makeover and liked the outcome better. The Harmony Barber Shop does haircuts right there on Main Street. They also style little guys hair with gel and confetti, but you can request for the same for the girls…only $8! The girls couldn’t wait to go show the princesses their new do. We had a meal in Magic Kingdom with Winnie the Pooh and his friends, and we got to meet a few extra along the way that we hadn’t met yet, like Peter Pan. Also, like I said we had to show the princesses the new do.

Then after venturing around the park a while, it was time to go back to the hotel. We made our last stop with Minnie and Mickey so that we could say good-bye.

After exiting from our farewells, we ran into the Main Street Electrical Parade already in progress (we didn’t know until that day the parade was going to run again). Of course, on the first float we saw was Minnie Mouse. Brady said “Minnie ran in high heels, silly Minnie you aren’t suppose to do that” and then came Mickey in a sparkly lit up jacket. Brady said “Mickey changed his jacket really fast!” So just like we started the whole trip and ended in awe and wonder. Never doubting that there is only one Minnie and Mickey, Brady just loved how magical (and fast) they were.

Laying in bed that night, we asked the girls about their experience, when asking about their favorite ride the answer was monorail, so you can guess what we did one last time in the morning before getting in the van.

Disney World, Day Four: Kingdoms of Animals and Magic continued…

Well, something I didn’t realize is that different parades happen on different days. I wanted to experience the Main Street Electrical Parade with the girls; very nostalgic for me. I have the song on CD as well and just love listening to it. Well, I assumed before going to Disney, it ran every night….false. We had two of our four days planned to be at Magic Kingdom and it was not running either of the nights (or so we thought Winking smile). So we made an extra trip to Magic Kingdom for the parade and fireworks show after our trip to Animal Kingdom.

People were finding spots for the parade TWO HOURS EARLY!!! So as soon as we got there, we had to find a front spot on a curb and take turns bringing the girls around the park. Auntie Andi hit up the tea cups, another Disney classic.

Grandma entertained them by buying them new light up toys. They choose the bubble guns. All sorts of kids enjoyed popping the bubbles with them.

Reese enjoyed filling her hand up with bubbles.

PARADE TIME!!! Don’t these pictures just make you happy?!?!?!?

IMG_4630IMG_4638IMG_4647IMG_4653

Next up Cinderella’s Castle Firework show. I love that Tinkerbell still flies across the sky. Disney really knows what to NOT change.

IMG_2973IMG_2975

BOTH of the girls fell asleep during the loud loud fireworks…now I know lullabies are just too gentle for them Winking smile

Now to carry those sweet little ones back to the hotel (remember we walk to the hotel from MK!)

Back to MK in the morning…
