A bond like none other

When we had Dewy, I told Karl I wanted him to have a best friend. So we got Pace. Now they are inseparable.

We had Brady and I told Karl, I wanted another baby so Brady could have a best friend. We had Reese. Now they are inseparable.

We gave them their own rooms in FL, they asked to have sleep overs in each others rooms every night. So we gave them a common bedroom with bunk beds. Now, they are sharing the same bed.

In this first picture, they both have their hand draped over their sister's leg. They are wound into each other like pretzels.
This next photo was after Brady had a long emotional evening because she missed her daddy so much. I asked Reese is she could make Brady feel extra loved that night. Reese shared her pillow and her oxygen.

I hope Elli will be able to build this same bond with them as well.

Spotlight on Elliot

Elli Dew is becoming a very sweet baby. I used to say she was my hardest baby, but that is no longer true at all. Now that she is able to self sooth with the thumb and blankie, she is a much happier baby. Let her have her thumb and place a blankie in her other hand and she is set!
Elli is laughing now. She has laughed in response to almost all of us now. I love my Elliot laughs.

Elli is the sleeping champ these days. She averages about 12 hours a night without waking up at all. She goes to bed at 6:45 and doesn't usually make a sound until I need to nurse her to get ready to leave for school. Yes, you read that right, I normally have to wake her up in the mornings. Just the other day, I woke her up after 14 hours of sleep so that we could leave for Reese's soccer game...crazy I know.

Elli, I eagerly await to see your personality shine through. Are you going to be the typical 'baby' of the family? Are you going to be a momma's girl or a daddy's girl? Thank you for being a great baby! I am smitten with you. I love that even when your sisters are smothering you, you only have smiles to share with them; you never complain about their desire to love on you all the time. I love you, Elli Dew.

Sleeping Beauties Part Three

As I have mentioned in the past I LOVE taking pictures of my girls sleeping. Reese especially always gives me a good laugh. I thought I would post my collection of sleeping pictures over the last couple months.

One night Reese got out her favorite coat to sleep in. And no, it wasn't a cold night.

The girls love playing sleepover and so we let them try it again. Reese fell asleep over an hour after Brady but she did choose the spot next to her sister to rest her eyes.

Speaking of sleepover, the girls (who would really love to share a room) now sit at their doors and talk to each other at bedtime. Our rule is they can do anything in their room after bedtime but must not leave their rooms. Last night, they both fell asleep at the doorway, this is Brady tonight...um well Reese is still awake as I type at 9:45.

I posted about this before, but I still love this one...

Gotta love the cliffhanger
My diva, Brady

Reese loves having someone in bed with her!

Some things never change!

Both of the girls have picked up the habit of falling asleep with the overhead light on. I did it when I was a kid and completely understand the sense of security it brings. But I love it because I get to see their sweet faces after they fall asleep. I have taken so many pictures of them sleeping lately since the lighting is good enough to snap a picture. I have a lot of Brady sleeping with a purse on her shoulder and cuddling with her baby doll. Reese like mentioned in other posts finds the craziest poses to happen to fall asleep in. The other night Karl told me to go look how sweet Reese looked. When I walked in I immediately flash backed almost exactly three years ago.

The baby picture of Reese was taken probably the first week after she was born. So right before Christmas 2008. The older picture was taken two days ago on the 2nd. So they are three weeks shy of being three years apart.

Either that tan bear, AKA "blue", has either gotten a lot smaller or Reesey Poo is growing too fast!

Ps: Another thing that makes me laugh when looking at the two pictures, is the contrast of color. There isn't a single drop of pink in the baby pic, but it is on her PJs, comforter and water bottle in the toddler pic. I used to think I would have tomboys, but I certainly love me girly girls (more than I would have any tomboy)!

Sleeping Beauty Part Two

SO you know I recently posted about Reese and her habit to fall asleep while playing. Well, I have to add two more recent nights to the mix. First, I think  here she was boycotting her bedroom, and opted for the hallway…

On the night I was packing for Disney, Karl was flying late and I was in the bedroom packing. For those who don’t know, my bedroom is on the complete opposite side of the side from Reese’s room. She comes out to tell me about her silly pillow and asks me to put it back where it belongs. This…is what I walk into. 9:15 at night (put to bed at 7:15) and she is laying out outfits from her closet. Silly kid…

Apparently she had to set up her beanie babies too.

Well, I walked off and she closed her door. TWO minutes later I check the monitor, and she had the lights off and was asleep. I am trying to decide if she was waiting all night for me to discover her mischief she had made!

Our very own Sleeping Beauty (or not)

Reese has a tough time falling asleep at night. She doesn’t usually cry, but will play and play for hours on end. She comes out and brings us toys that don’t belong in her room, read books out loud, etc. So recently most nights she falls asleep right in the middle of her floor while playing.

(Yes, we let her have the light on, she doesn’t like the dark)
