Sweet Little Reesey-Poo

I love how at such a young age, toddlers are able to express a love for their families!

 

Today was the first day that Brady was at preschool for the whole 3.5 hours (last week was orientation). So I ask Reese after running a quick errand what she wanted to do. I listed such things as getting a snack, going to the playground, going home and reading books, etc. Reese’s reply was “Baidy?” I had to explain to her that Brady would be at preschool a little longer. Reese’s reply to that was “Daddy home?” Then I am left to explain that daddy is at work. So she says “Brady home!” AWWWW

 

I am glad to know she is happiest when we are all home together! Me too, Reese.

Another uh-oh moment

You remember the post about when Karl and I look at each other and say we are in trouble….

 

I was cleaning out the garage and decided to put the doormat that we had in VA out in our house.  It is a geometric pattern of squares that are navy and tan. This morning Brady stands on it and says “this is from Baginia”

 

I even texted Karl at work to see if he told her that last night….Nope. She has memories from 9 months ago!

Day 2: preschool update

No, I am not going to do this everyday, but I know Brady’s family is curious about the transition into preschool and want to hear about how the beginning goes.

 

Today,I brought Reese with me since yesterday went so smoothly. As I knelt down to sign Brady in, her lead teacher Gaylene, opened the door. Brady ran over and gave her the biggest hug!!!! Then she walked in without saying bye. The teacher reminded her to say bye to me, which she said quickly because she had more important things on her mind.

 

Well, this excitement tickles me pink and is of course great news. However, today is the first day that Reese witnessed the dropping off of Brady. She was hysterical when I walked away with her (and not Brady). She whined/cried for the next hour. The only thing that I could make her happy with is, of course, Taylor Swift music. So ironically the person that is going to have the hardest time with this separation during preschool time is not me, nor Brady but Reese. That sibling bond between them is amazing and more then I could have asked for. My hopes are the bond stays this strong for their whole life.

 

After pick-up the hot topic thus far (I get little snip-its through out the day) is the potties again. “The kids flush the potties!” “They have little sinks, there are two!” “They have paper towels, but they aren’t white!” She has always been obsessed with restrooms.

First day of preschool

Today was Brady’s first day of preschool. She has been looking forward to this day for a long time. It was like Christmas morning today, she woke up an hour early. She immediately asked to go to preschool.

 

 

The school prefers that if kids are crying when they are dropped off. SO I had a friend watch Reese in case there wasn’t a smooth drop off. Well, the drop off couldn’t be any smoother. She walked in the door without and without looking back.

 

The teacher at pick up told me she did really well! YAH!!!

 

Here are the snip-its of her day I haven gotten so far:

• she played with yellow play-doh.
• she meet a girl named Emma.
• The teacher said all of their names.
• She shook the teacher’s hand that had on the white jacket.
• They didn’t play on the playground today.
• She used the potty three times.

I will have to tell you, I miss her during the time she is gone and I was worried about not getting to know what she is doing every single second. But I felt like I got a goo snip-it of her day.

 

This picture below is of Maddie and Reese. That is the friend that watched Reese for me. I swear I think that Maddie looks more like Reese’s sister then Brady does. This isn’t the best picture, but they have the same eyes and face shape, and of course blonde curly hair.

Sweetest little girls in the world!

I have had many moments in the last couple months where I saw to myself…”wow, how did I get so lucky?” Life is just really good for me right now. I have a caring, supportive husband that supports (emotionally and financially) as I fulfill my life dream of being a long-term stay at home mom.

Meet the teacher night

Tonight Karl and I had to opportunity of going to a parents’ meeting for the preschool. How am I already at this point in my life?!?!?! WE talked about PTO and everything!

 

The meeting was very informative and I was glad to learn everything. I already volunteered for a couple things, like organizing and submitting the Scholastic book orders for the classroom. I have a hard time being hands off!

 

When I was talking to the lead teacher, Gaylene, after the meeting we discussed my decision to place Brady in the preschool only two days a week. They strongly encourage for Brady to be able to stay in the swing of things, that we enroll her in 3 days a week. I obviously want her to fully benefit from their program, but it is hard to not have her with me that often in the week.

 

Should I keep her at 2 days a week where she eats lunch there: tues. thurs. 8-12:30 or should I add the day and drop the lunchtime: tues. wed. thurs/ 8-11:30? What are your thoughts?

 

Brady gets to meet her teachers tomorrow morning. I told her tonight that was the plan for tomorrow. She said “No. no, no I don’t want to go tomorrow” And I was like uh-oh this is going to be tougher then I thought. Then she said “I want to go tonight instead” AWWWWW I love that little girl so freakin’ much!!!!

Hot Hot-Lanta

Even though I have so much I could blog about right now, I am having well not writers’ block, but I guess writers’ laziness.

 

We recently went on a weekend trip as a family to Atlanta. Here are some pictures to give you a snip-it of the fun filled weekend.

Tid-bits about the Curly-Ques

I have just a couple random thoughts to share with you about my beautiful girls..

 

This is somewhat a Bradyism, but not quite…

 

• Yesterday, I was cooking dinner, Reese napping, and Brady and Karl were hanging out at the new reading corner in my bedroom.

 

Brady runs into the kitchen: B-“Are you doing great, Mommy?” I respond “Yes, I am” B-“Okay, I am going to check Daddy out” (even though she was just with him) she runs off. A minute or two later, Brady comes bobbing back in “You still okay, Mommy?”

 

Man that Brady girl is a sweetie!

 

• At another time when I was hanging out in the reading corner (per Brady’s request) I was reading my Picoult book and Brady grabbed a book off the shelf. She choose “A Million Little Pieces” she likes it because the cover has a hand covered in sprinkles. She was ‘reading’ it aloud. Her story went along the lines of this…There was a little girl who slammed her hand in the door. But now she is a mommy now.

 

That made me smile.

 

• I was watching Reese yesterday and thinking boy she has REALLY grown up (developmentally) this last month. Then I thought about how when Brady was this age she did the same thing, but at the time I thought it was because Brady had just become a big sister, but I guess it just happens to all kids.

 

• Today Brady had her post op follow up appt. It was not smooth in that it was painful for Brady to have the bandage removed, however, healing is on course. Her hand is no longer in an ace-bandage she just has a band-aid over the tip of her finger.

She is currently playing doctor on me with the supplies her doctor gave her. I have the ace bandage on my wrist. My elbow is wrapped in gauze and I have two pads taped to my shoulder. She loves playing doctor.

SO-Fa Happy

We got our new sofas delivered today! I feel in love with them at the store. Now that they are in my living room I love them even more!!! Here is a couple pics of them. THe up close of the loveseat is the better representation of the color.

 

Now the issue on our hands, what to do with our old sofa/loveseat set. It has been well loved by especially our dogs. So it could be trash essentially but we have no way of getting it to a dump.

 

I have been wanting to make a reading corner in my oversized master bedroom, so I took the opportunity to use the loveseat. I am very happy with the results. I had the bookshelf already too, so I didn’t spend a dime to make this corner.

 

Now what to do with this?
